If I could choose my favorite accessory it would be the handbag. I remember being 6 and having an Anastasia backpack that was pink and had a drawstring and Velcro. But the best part about it was the holographic sticker of Anastasia stitched onto the front flap. I carried that bag everywhere. That’s when I fell in love with bags.
The first designer bag I ever wanted was the Burberry Warrior bag. Of course my mother couldn’t afford such an expensive bag, but I envied every celebrity I saw with it. Now looking back at it I think it looks kind of ugly and tacky. I’m not sure what my 9 year old self liked about it.
I’m still a fan of designer bags though, I only own two and they’re not huge designer brands but I love them. My mom always had Coach bags when I was growing up and when I was a little girl I would spend hours in our closet playing with the hardware on the bags and breathing in the leather.
Since then I’ve learned out about quality over quantity. I’m not into trendy bags, I want something I can pass down to my future children. However, I won’t miss out on a good look-alike at Forever 21. I’ll stop rambling on and introduce you all to my humble bag collection
I picked this beauty up at Burlington a few months ago. I actually think it was a week after my New York trip. I love it, the design is modern and it fits all the things I carry everyday. I just can’t get into the micro bag trend. I need to carry too many things with me everyday. This bag only set me back $40, the original price was over $100. The interior lining is a royal blue. In total there are three pockets in the inside. It comes with a strap, but can also be carried with the top handle.
This is the most expensive bag I own, and the only big designer one I own. This bag is valued at $475, but I’m positive you can find it for a bit less. I actually didn’t buy this bag. It was a prize from a giveaway. I won it about 4 years ago and since then I’ve used it mostly for travel. Even though it’s the smallest size, it’s still a bit to big for me to carry on a daily basis. The bag is leather and Italian canvas. It came with a dustbag but I lost it at a fashion show I attended awhile ago(long story). I got the inside of it damaged so I’m sure the value on it has went down, but I love it dearly.
A designer from Greece( I’m not 100 percent sure) made this for me and sent it to me when I was doing fashion blogging. It’s made from 100 percent suede and is a deep emerald color. I remember receiving this beauty in the mail and feeling grateful for being able to have a blog that touched so many people that they would send me things to write about. When I was fashion blogging I was a teen, just had prom and I got sent a lot of free things to write about. Back then I didn’t know that I could say no to posting certain things on my blog, but this bag was different. The designer was so kind to me and the bag was perfect. It actually still is perfect, and I should carry it a lot more.
I bought this designer look alike at Forever 21 last year. It’s a simple structure, there are three compartments that surprisingly hold a lot. I carried this all of last year. It comes in handy when you want a smaller bag to carry a good amount of items.
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that I don’t seem like the type of girl that would carry a bag that is monogrammed, right? Well, maybe not now, but when it was sent to me a few years ago I was madly in love. And you know what, this bag still holds a special part of my heart. For it to be a clutch it holds a lot. The red is bright and the letters are a navy blue. A gold chain comes with it. This isn’t a bag I carry everyday or reach for all the time like I used to, but I love it and I’m kind of considering to wear it on the 4th of July.
I’ve been posting some heavy stuff on my blog recently and I wanted to do something fun. If you’re wondering what my dream bag would be, its a Chanel 2.55. I would love to own that bag one day.
